What do I get for being on the new PaySimple Payments API?
With the new PaySimple Payments API, you will now be able to issue partial refunds for credit card transactions in Zen Planner. You’ll also be able to see Deposit Date information in Payments reports. Furthermore, you’re eligible to have Card Account Updater added to your account, which is a new functionality with PaySimple that allows expired credit cards to be updated automatically in the backend to avoid declined transactions and lost revenue.
Who uses the new PaySimple API?
Any PaySimple customer that uses WorldPay as their processor will be using the new PaySimple Payments API. If you were not approved by WorldPay and use an alternate processor through PaySimple (i.e. CMS), you will not be using the new PaySimple Payments API and will not be eligible for any of the added functionality (i.e. partial credit card refunds, deposit date, Card Account Updater).
Where do I go to refund a transaction? Zen Planner or the PaySimple portal?
When can I do a partial refund in Zen Planner?
You can issue a partial refund in Zen Planner for credit card transactions that occurred after you were migrated to the new PaySimple Payments API. You will need to follow the steps for How to Reflect a Partial Refund in Zen Planner if you want to issue a partial refund for:
- Credit card transactions that occurred before the migration date
- ACH transactions that occurred both before and after your migration date
When was my migration date?
If you were an existing Zen Planner / PaySimple customer, you would have received a confirmation email titled “Partial payments and deposit statements are live!” from info@zenplanner.com on the date your migration was completed.
What will I need to use the PaySimple portal for going forward?
The PaySimple portal will still hold historical transaction information of all processing activity prior to your migration date plus past and current processing activity for ACH. You should only need to log into the PaySimple portal to (1) view pre-migration transactions, (2) view ACH transactions, and (3) issue refunds for:
- Credit card transactions that occurred before the migration date
- ACH transactions that occurred both before and after your migration date
Where in Zen Planner can I tell if I’m on the new PaySimple Payments API?
If you go to Setup > Business Info > Payment Processing, you’ll now see a field that says “Client ID.” Only customers that are on the new PaySimple Payments API will have that field in there. In addition, if you go to one of your credit card transactions from today and click on the payment, the Confirmation Code will be in the format “tx_############,” which is the format for confirmation codes via the new API
What is WorldPay? And what is the WorldPay portal used for?
WorldPay is the primary payment processor for which PaySimple is a reseller. Most Zen Planner customers who use PaySimple process via WorldPay. The WorldPay portal is called Access My iQ or just iQ. All Zen Planner/PaySimple customers who use WorldPay have access to this portal. This portal is strictly a reporting tool that can be used to look at in-depth transaction information (credit cards only) and your monthly payment processing statements. The only action that can be taken in this portal by business owners is to dispute chargebacks or download monthly processing statements. Where can I view Credit Card transactions if I want to see them outside of Zen Planner?
To view your Credit Card transactions outside of Zen Planner, you'll need to log-in to the iQ portal through WorldPay. If you do not have your log-in information handy for the iQ portal, PaySimple can help you recover it and re-send it.
