Exporting Your Client Data from Front Desk HQ

So, you're switching over to Zen Planner and need to get your client list and your current memberships out of Front Desk and into your new database.  This topic will walk you through how to export your existing people and any current memberships into an Excel spreadsheet that can be used to import into Zen Planner.  In order to accomplish this you will need to run, and then export, two separate reports in Front Desk HQ.

Exporting Your Client Data

Login to your Front Desk HQ admin account.  From there, you will click on the Analytics & Reporting icon in the upper right hand corner which will take you to the reporting dashboard.  Now we are going to export the All Clients report.  If you haven't already saved the All Clients report as a starred report, click on the Membership heading, then select the All Clients report from the list.

Click on the gear icon and then click the Export Raw button.  This will automatically download this report as a .csv file you can open in Excel.

The next report you need to export is the Memberships report.  Again, if you haven't already saved this as a starred report, click on the Membership heading, then select it from the list.  Next, click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner to format the report. Click on the Today button in the popup menu to only show memberships that are active as of today, then click Apply.  After the report has updated, click on the gear icon again and click the Export Raw button.  This will automatically download this report as a .csv file you can open in Excel.

Next Steps

Once you have your client data you have a two ways for importing it into your Zen Planner database.  

For your All Clients report data, you can follow the Importing People article to help you with formatting and importing it yourself.  If you are less tech savvy, attach the .csv file you downloaded in an email to your Zen Planner onboarding coach and they will work with you to get your data formatted & imported.

For your Memberships report data, attach the .csv file you downloaded to an email and send it to your Zen Planner onboarding coach and they will work with you to get your data formatted & imported.
