Setting up a Class Card Membership

A class card or a punch card membership is a membership where the person pays in advance for a specific number of classes. As they attend or reserve a class, Zen Planner automatically deducts one class from their membership each time. When they finish all the classes, they need to purchase another membership to continue taking classes.

When to Offer Class Card Memberships

Class card memberships are helpful when your members aren't ready to commit to a specific class or specific day. They can also be used to supplement a membership that limits the number of classes a person attends per week or per month. If a person meets their 2x/weekly limit, for example, a member could use their class card to attend another class that week.

Recommended Settings for Class Card Memberships

Membership Length - Many studios set up their class card memberships to expire within 3-6 months. This encourages the person to attend as many classes as they can using their membership before the membership expires. If you want to make the class card essentially never expire, you can enter a membership length of up to 5 years.

Installment Plan - We recommend choosing the "Single Payment" option as your default installment plan on class card memberships. This allows members to pre-pay for all the classes upfront. Many studios provide a discount off the regular drop-in fee rate when a member purchases a class card.

Attendance - In Zen Planner, you can manage the number of classes included in a class card membership by choosing the LIMITED to X total classes to under the Attendance > Class Limits section of the membership. "X" is the number of classes available using this class card.
