Notes Report Migration

On Wednesday, January 27th we will be transitioning where we store log notes in your Zen Planner database. This article will walk you through what to expect from the change and how you can access this data.

The older version of how to run a notes report:

  • Click on Dashboard
  • Click on New Report
  • Click on Notes

On the next screen you would be able to select criteria, such as Sub Type is Membership Updated or Attendance Deleted, etc.

Once you select your criteria, you can refresh the report and get the results showcased below

The NEW way to run a Log report:

  • Click on Dashboard
  • Click on Log

Prior to the release your Log will look like the screenshot below:

After the release, you will notice the the Log screen will have more information to select from:

This information will replace what was showcased as criteria in your older notes report that was shown above.

Once you click into a Log report, you will then see that you can select criteria within this Log.

If you have saved past notes reports, you can also save the new Log reports as well. To do this:

  • Click on Dashboard
  • Click on Log
  • Click on the Log Note
  • Add or change the criteria
  • Edit report settings to select any columns you wish to add
  • Save Report
  • Give Report a Name, Category and Description
  • Save Changes

This saved report will be located in the Log area under the Category that you chose while saving this report.

To run a notes report on a specific student:

  • Click into Students profile
  • Click on Communication & Status
  • Click on View All

The next screen will showcase any notes added for this student. You can also click on System Notes to give you specific Log reporting options to choose from

This will take you to a screen that looks similar to the Log screen from your dashboard. When you click on a Log note here, for example Membership, it will automatically fill in a criteria section for this student specifically.
