Managing Family Sign ups (Member Connect Site)

You might be reading this help document if your business allows for online membership registrations through the Member Connect Site. Here is a breakdown of 2 ways to allow for online sign-ups for Families!

Scenario 1:

>>Parent is signing up as guardian on member connect site and then registering the student
>>Parent enters their email address in the guardian section and email field for the student is BLANK.

Settings in Zen Planner:
Recommended for families where the parents/guardians will manage the child profile

>> Click Setup
>> UNDER Member Connect
>> Click Member Privileges
>> Guardian setting is ONPicture2.png

>> Under Registration
>> Click Signatures
>> Waiver (universal doc) is active

What is the outcome?

  1. A waiver will push to BOTH. The parent will be prompted to sign the KIDS waiver and the guardian’s waiver will be left unsigned on their profile.
  2. The parent will receive an email with login credentials. They can log into the member connect site with those credentials and manage the actual students profile. These credentials are tied to the parent’s actual profile.
  3. The parent can use the credentials to log into the member app HOWEVER, it will look as if their calendar is blank because it takes them to their profile (without a membership), not the students. So, this is NOT a good practice if they want to use the member app for managing their student’s reservations.

Additional Notes: Parent phone number tag pulls from the phone number that is associated to the student.  

At this point, IF you want the parent to be able to manage the student’s profile/reservations etc. in the ZP Member App, you would have to….

>> Go to the Student’s profile in studio
>> Click on the lightning bolt
>> Check off the box “Allow NAME to log into the member website” to send them a password
>> Add an email address NOTE: (it CAN be the same as the parent)
>> Save Changes

Picture4.png>> NOTE: They must reset the password and they can USE the same password as the parent. IF the guardian and student have the same EMAIL and password, after they attempt to log into the app with those credentials, the screen will look like. (see below screenshot)

 SCENARIO 2:

Recommended for families that want their children to manage the majority of their profile; still allowing parents to have access. 

Settings:
>> Setup
>> Member Connect
>>Member Privileges
>>Guardian setting is ON

AND

>>Setup
>> Registration
>> Signatures
>>Waiver (universal doc) is active

 

Scenario:

>> Parent is signing up as guardian through the member connect site and then registering the student

>> Parent enters their email address in the guardian section

>> Parent also enters a different email for the student 

What is the outcome?

  1. A waiver will push to BOTH profiles. The parent will be prompted to sign the KIDS waiver and the guardian’s waiver will be left unsigned.
  2. 2 emails would be sent to; one to parent, one to the student; each obtaining their OWN log in credentials.
  3. At this point, the guardian could log into member app with students email and see student’s profile/details. Guardian can also log into the member connect site and manage both profiles there with their own email/ login credentials. A parent can also log in with THEIR credentials in the member portal and manage the students profile.
